The sail cruising section of BMYC has just become reactivated with Ray Flowers taking on the role of Rear Commodore Cruising. A number of cruising events are planned for the next year. We are looking for boats and crew who like to sail in convoy of friends.

Bearing in mind there hasn’t been a sail cruising section at BMYC for a while a packed itinerary is probably not appropriate in the first year, therefore it is suggested we stick to four main events.

The suggested itinerary for 2012 is:

1. Full participation in the Dieppe Dash event, starting on May the 4th and incorporating the early May bank holiday on May 7th. Click the link to find out more details.

2. A weekend trip to Fecamp, perhaps incorporating the Royal Escape race, the date is Friday, 1st June; Spring Bank Holiday is Monday, 4th June and an additional holiday on Tuesday 5th for the Queens Diamond Jubilee.

3. A weeks cruise to the Solent perhaps late July or late August to incorporate the August Bank Holiday, taking in the delights of Beaulieu and Yarmouth and also Port Solent and Swanwick to use our free mooring nights!

4. A rally to the Eastbourne Air Tattoo, 9th to 12th August 2012.

Interspersed within these event dates impromptu weekend trips could be planned at short notice together with social events at the yacht club.

I would be grateful for expressions of interest in the first instance; please fill in your details on the form on the notice board in the clubroom or contact the rear commodore directly using the e-mail address above.
