Race officers for weekly races are taken from participating boats in turn. All racing yachts will be required to perform Race Officer duties. It is the responsibility of the Race Officer to ensure that he/she has enough assistants (at least two) to run an organised race. It is the duty of any Race Officer who cannot be present on the prescribed day to find a substitute whom he can confidently appoint to fulfil the required duties. See the Sailing Instructions for further information.

On Wednesday evening racing, boats that are race officers are allowed to race and start the race using a gate start.

Race Officer Guidance

The Race Committee had produced and updated the guidance for race officers. This guidance can either be downloaded from the link above. Or click to view it online. Please take time to read the guidance.
